CROSSFIRE: Week 5: Tennessee @ LSU

For Week 5’s edition of Crossfire, we break down the matchup between the 4-0 LSU Tigers against the 2-2 Tennessee Volunteers at Tiger Stadium. We will have one writer will argue for why LSU WILL win, and another writer will tell you why they WON’T win. The purpose of this is not to be negative or give LSU fans something to complain about, but to present both sides of the game and to give our readers what to look for from both teams. This week, Jason will give us his reasons... Read More

Observations From the NFL: Week 3

Can someone point me in the direction of the nearest train tracks? Week 3 in a Super Run-On Sentence Braylon Edwards drinks a lot then drives, but apparently isn’t any good at it, then people whine for him to get suspended and he shaves his beard of Zeus and catches a long TD while Garrett Hartley kicks field goals like Jordan Jefferson throws passes (see I can do bonus college stuff too), all the while Pittsburgh beats Tampa so bad it could conceivably count as two losses and... Read More

The purpose of this is not to be negative or give LSU fans something to complain about, but to present both sides of the game and to give our readers what to look for from both teams. This week, Jack will give us his reasons... Read More

Observations From the NFL: Week 2

Well one week ago I decided to start writing this NFL column, and it seems I was able to trick enough people into enjoying the premise that I’m back for another round. Thanks to the people who gave me feedback on how I could improve the column, so starting this week I am going to try to fit more content into headings that I can try and replicate every week. So without further adieu here is the best, most well ritten (that’s for a certain friend of mine, you know who you are)... Read More

The New LaRon Landry

I’ve had the opportunity to watch the Washington Redskins play the last two weeks and have been pretty impressed with what the new coaching staff has done to rebuild the team.  New quarterback Donavan McNabb looks lighter and younger and Santana Moss is on the verge for a big season.  However, the biggest change I’ve noticed about this team is on Jim Haslett’s defense:  LaRon Landry is playing out of his mind. Now obviously as an LSU fan I’ve been a big admirer of Landry... Read More

CROSSFIRE: Week 3: Miss. St. @ LSU

The purpose of this is not to be negative or give LSU fans something to complain about, but to present both sides of the game and to give our readers what to look for from both teams. This week, Josh will give us his reasons... Read More

Observations From the NFL: Week 1

Week 1: Why the Jets are more like the Washington Redskins than the New Orleans Saints Let me take you back to last December, where after a 10-7 loss to the defensively bankrupt Atlanta Falcons, unabashed blowhard Rex Ryan declared his team mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Besides the baffling fact that apparently the Jets have no one on their staff who knows current playoff scenarios, we learned that the Jets were at best a mediocre team. Well over the next two months... Read More

Why James Madison Should be in the National Championship

Coming off the “biggest win of (his) professional career” Coach Mickey Matthews got the nation’s respect with a shocking win over VT this past Saturday.  So much so in fact that they garnered 11 votes this past week in the AP poll.  If the small school from Virginia can run the table (and I think they will), I think they should seriously be considered for the BCS National Championship game.  As Tim Brando says, If it weren’t for the “commissioners and presidents who... Read More
